Expedia Group zeroes in on 3 key travel trends

Expedia TAAP expands to new markets, unveils summer sale & commission boost

TORONTO — With travel demand at an all-time high, Expedia Group has unveiled a number of new initiatives that will help travel advisors drive more bookings and earn more commission.

The company, whose research found that 76% of people plan to travel in the next year with an average of three trips, is expanding Expedia TAAP to an additional 53 new markets in the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

All Expedia TAAP advisors benefit from Expedia Group’s broad travel offerings that include hotels, vacation rentals, flights, car rentals, cruises and activities. They can also access a range of Expedia Group’s technology and tools, including a Virtual Agent that allows them to self-serve and fine answers to common questions, quickly search for information, or modify bookings, at a time of their choice. Additionally, advisors in Canada and the U.S. now have access to Live Agent Chat, which allows them to seek help and advice from Expedia’s experienced agents. Live Agent Chat will become available in additional markets in the coming months.

“Advisors play a critical role in the global travel ecosystem and we are committed to helping them deliver world-class experiences to the travellers they serve,” said Phoebe Bush, Expedia Group’s TAAP Director, Travel Agent Distribution, adding that more than 35,000 agencies count on the company to fulfill their bookings. “We are thrilled to offer our advisors competitive incentives and easy access to our travel offerings to help them maximize their revenue opportunities and meet the needs of travellers in what is expected to be the busiest travel season in years.”

Expedia Group also announced that it is helping advisors maximize their potential earnings. With the Summer Sale, Expedia TAAP advisors in Canada can offer travellers 15% or more in savings on thousands of hotels worldwide, for bookings made between July 4 – Aug. 7, 2022.

Additionally, advisors in Canada, Europe, Mexico, UK and the U.S. will receive an additional compensation boost for bookings on Premium Plus properties, a selection of properties that offer the most compensation. This offer is valid on bookings made through Expedia TAAP between June 20 – July 3, 2022.
