TORONTO — Railbookers is giving travel advisors a new way to experience its rail vacations firsthand, with 10 small-group FAM departures planned for 2027 alongside the company’s Rail Experts.
It’s the first time Railbookers has offered escorted FAM trips of this kind, taking advisors along some of its top-selling routes while giving them the chance to learn directly from company staff.
Applications are now open, with departures scheduled from April through November 2027 and a participation fee of US$499 for selected advisors.
“Travel advisors are essential partners in helping their clients discover the possibilities of a rail vacation,” said Jim Marini, SVP, Strategic Partnerships. “Our 2027 itineraries, the largest launch of rail familiarization trips ever, give them a chance to experience a journey alongside our Rail Experts, asking questions, hearing our team’s insights and seeing what makes each destination special. That firsthand perspective helps them bring the trip to life for clients.”
FROM THE SWISS ALPS TO THE CANADIAN ROCKIES
The new program features eight itineraries across 10 departures, including two opportunities each to experience Switzerland and Italy.
Switzerland’s Famous Trains will depart in June and September, while the Rome, Florence and Venice itinerary is scheduled for April and November. Other European options include Edinburgh, London and Paris in May; Prague, Vienna and Budapest in September; and Madrid, Seville and Barcelona in November.
Closer to home, advisors can experience the Canadian Rockies with Rocky Mountaineer in October, while an Alaska itinerary featuring Anchorage, Seward, Denali and Fairbanks is scheduled for June.
Japan rounds out the lineup, with a Tokyo, Hakone and Kyoto itinerary departing in October.
The US$499 participation fee includes rail travel, single-occupancy hotel accommodations, sightseeing activities and select meals. Airfare is not included and is the advisor’s responsibility.
The escorted trips are an addition to Railbookers’ existing independent advisor FAM program, which will continue in 2027 and beyond. That program offers advisors a 20% discount on any Railbookers or Amtrak Vacations itinerary worldwide.
