Sandals launches special 40th anniversary issue with Travelweek, available now

TORONTO — Travelweek is wishing Sandals Resorts a happy 40th anniversary this year with a just-launched commemorative issue designed exclusively for Canadian travel advisors.

Available in both print and digital and created in collaboration with Sandals Resorts International, the 32-page issue highlights the many milestones and accomplishments the iconic brand has achieved in the past four decades, starting from its flagship resort, Sandals Montego Bay, in 1981, to most recently its entry into Curaçao with the grand opening of Sandals Royal Curaçao earlier this month.

The issue also includes an exclusive interview with Executive Chairman Adam Stewart, insider tips for advisors from Sandals’ Canadian Sales Team, a showcase of top-selling travel advisors, and a special feature on the Sandals Foundation and its immense impact on the lives of Caribbean people. Travel advisors will also learn about Sandals’ growth and history in Canada, and the many tools and resources available to them in order to help grow their business.

On the issue’s launch, Maureen Barnes-Smith, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Canada at Unique Vacations Canada Inc., Affiliate of Unique Travel Corp, worldwide representatives of Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts, says: “As we continue the year-long celebration in honour of Sandals Resorts’ 40th anniversary, we couldn’t think of a better way to commemorate the milestone than by creating this special issue with the Travelweek team. It’s such a wonderful testament to the past, present and future of Sandals, who have been innovating and elevating the all-inclusive industry for four decades.”

Barnes-Smith adds that the issue comes perfectly timed, just a few weeks after the all-new Sandals Royal Curaçao opened its doors “featuring next-level accommodations and a host of Sandals Firsts’,” including the brand’s first-ever, bi-level Dos Awa Infinity Pool, Sandals’ first-ever off-site dining program called ‘Island Inclusive,’ and all-new room categories.

“It’s my sincere hope that Canadian travel advisors will enjoy reading it from cover to cover and take a stroll down memory lane with us – and reflect on when they first started selling Sandals – while at the same time get excited about the path forward,” adds Barnes-Smith. “The future of Sandals Resorts is indeed bright!”
