Here’s a look at the adults-only Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana

MEXICO CITY — La Colección Resorts has released renderings of its new Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana, slated to open in March 2020.

La Colección Resorts is part of Posadas, which also has resort brands Grand Fiesta Americana and Fiesta Americana.

The resort will open on the northern shores of Uvero Alto, an area that’s getting a lot of buzz lately. Another high-profile resort, Pure Salt Orchidarium with 250 rooms and 11 villas, plans to open in Punta Cana’s Uvero Alto in 2021.

The Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana marks the debut of the adults-only Live Aqua experience to the Dominican Republic, says Jose Carlos Azcárraga, CEO of Posadas. “Every Live Aqua resort brings its unique character to the location it’s in, while always delivering on the signature elements our loyal guests have come to know and love. This property will be no different, offering a new experience for the millions of visitors the island welcomes every year.”

The resort’s grand lobby and beach lounge will be in sync with the more intimate spaces including zen gardens and relaxation zones accented with fountains and imposing waterfalls, he adds.

Suite life

Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana will have 345 suites in seven categories, with views of the ocean, gardens or swimming pools. Select Junior Suites will have swim-up access from main swimming pools. Other suites will offer private swimming pools and terraces, and all suites will have soaking tubs, interactive 50” flat-screen televisions and more.

Resort amenities also include a private beachfront, an infinity swimming pool with ocean views, and the brand’s Feel Harmony Spa.

Seven restaurants will offer culinary concepts created by Mexican chef Gerardo Rivera. Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana will also have nearly 10,000 square feet of flexible function space plus several options for outdoor spaces ideal for weddings and other celebrations.
Like many resort companies, Posadas has expansion on the brain.

French dining

In April 2019 Posadas announced it was moving forward with plans for 300 properties by 2020 while looking at new markets like Jamaica and Aruba, taking its footprint beyond Mexico, Cuba and the D.R.

Posadas is also laying the groundwork for two new resort brands.

Posadas currently has some 180 hotels in operation, with another 53 under construction set to open over the next 30 months. The company’s goal is to have 300 properties in its portfolio by 2020.

In Tulkal, Mexico, Posadas will open multiple resorts including a 515-room Fiesta Americana All-Inclusive and a 340-room Live Aqua Beach Resort. Additional newly signed projects include a property in Playa Mujeres and another 700-room resort on the Pacific coast in Puerto Vallarta.

In 2018 Posadas came into the D.R. with the groundbreaking of Grand Fiesta Americana Punta Cana Los Corales All-inclusive in Punta Cana set to open in 2021, and Cuba with two resorts, the 633-room Fiesta Americana Punta Varadero All-Inclusive and Fiesta Americana Holguín Costa Verde All-Inclusive with 749 guestrooms.
