Destination Canada adds 10 ‘signature experiences’ to collection

VANCOUVER — Paddleboarding in B.C.’s Yoho National Park, cycling along Alberta’s Icefield Parkway and fiord cruising in Newfoundland’s Gros Morne National Park are among 10 new additions to Destination Canada’s Signature Experiences collection.

The Crown corporation promotes the curated group of 196 experiences internationally.

“By adding new members … we continue to enrich the story of Canada for our international visitors,” David Goldstein, Destination Canada president and CEO, said in a news release.

The latest additions:

— Ride a paddleboard in Yoho National Park.

— Learn hockey skills from former NHL players and current junior league coaches in Canmore, Alta.

— Climb Via Ferrata on Alberta’s Mount Norquay.

— Cycle the Icefield Parkway between Jasper and Banff.

— Take a behind-the-scenes tour with researchers at Winnipeg’s Assiniboine Park Conservancy.

— Paddle a canoe or kayak on the Madawaska River in Barry’s Bay, Ont.

— Ride through Ottawa River rapids on a raft.

— Take a fiord boat tour in Gros Morne National Park.

— Visit the Fogo Island Inn in Joe Batt’s Arm, N.L.

— Stay at a restored light keeper’s home in Cornerbrook, N.L.
