The Travel Agency Next Door finalizes lineup for spring Cuba conference

TORONTO — The Travel Agent Next Door has finalized its lineup of speakers for the group’s conference taking place at the Iberostar Laguna Azul in Varadero April 20 – 27.  The conference theme is ‘2020 Vision’ and will focus agents on the importance of having a clear vision for the next five years in order to succeed.

Robin Mednick will be the keynote speaker, talking about having the passion to conquer all challenges along the path to success.   Mednick will speak about her journey to Niger, where she helped a village learn agriculture and to build a school. She had to overcome language barriers and cultural differences and figure out how to establish a charity. She will inspire delegates to go forward and “do it afraid” – her motto.

Cheryl Gregory will conduct a session called ‘Connect, build trust and sell more using D.E.A.L. personality and thinking styles’ (Doers, Entertainers, Analysts and Lovers) demonstrating quick-to-learn, easy to remember ways to connect better with clients.

Emily Baillie teaches social media at Humber College and an e-marketing course at George Brown.  Baillie will educate delegates on how to use social media to focus on their brand, get their message out and build and keep a social media following.

Coralie Belman is a former travel agent who has held roles at CITC and trade associations for over 20 years. Belman will conduct two sessions:  ‘Having a Vision to Develop Your Client Base’ will explore ways to find clients and keep them; and ‘Are You Leaving Money on the Table?’ will discuss the Importance of cross-selling and switch-selling to preferred suppliers to benefit you and your client.
