Club Med Tremblant breaks ground, set to open December 2028

MONT-TREMBLANT — Club Med has officially broken ground on its second Canadian mountain resort, with Club Med Tremblant set to open in December 2028 as a four-season destination in the heart of the Laurentians.

Profession Voyages, Travelweek’s French-language publication, was on hand for the official groundbreaking ceremony Oct. 7, which was followed by a press conference at the Casino de Mont-Tremblant. The event brought together Club Med executives, local partners and tourism stakeholders to mark the start of construction and share more details about the resort’s vision.

Located on Versant Soleil, Club Med Tremblant will offer ski-in/ski-out access at the foot of the slopes, putting guests in the heart of one of Eastern North America’s largest ski areas. The resort will also be close to Mont-Tremblant’s pedestrian village and surrounded by the landscapes of the Laurentians.

“Club Med is the pioneer of the all-inclusive vacation concept and the global leader in premium vacations and the only hospitality brand specializing in all-inclusive ski resorts,” said Stéphane Maquaire, President and Chief Executive Officer of Club Med.

“Today, Club Med Tremblant fully aligns with our global strategy: an ambitious vision to make Club Med an iconic lifestyle brand and reach 100 Resorts by 2035. But above all, this growth is thoughtful growth. Sustainable growth. Growth rooted in exceptional destinations. And Tremblant is unquestionably one of them.”

SKIING AND MORE

Winter sports will be at the heart of the Club Med Tremblant experience, with skiing and snowboarding, lessons and lift tickets included as part of the all-inclusive offering.

During the warmer months, the resort will shift its focus to outdoor activities, wellness and nature, positioning it as a year-round destination. The resort will also feature Club Med’s signature G.O. experience, Kids Clubs and sports academies, along with a culinary program inspired in part by Quebec flavours and ingredients.

An Exclusive Collection space will offer a more intimate experience within the resort, with upgraded amenities, priority access, private spaces and panoramic mountain views.

The resort’s arrival coincides with further development on Versant Soleil. Tremblant is investing $42.5 million in Timber Summit, which is expected to add 62 acres of skiable terrain, eight new trails and a high-speed quad chairlift beginning in winter 2027-2028.

BUILDING ON CANADIAN GROWTH

Club Med Tremblant follows the success of Club Med Québec Charlevoix, which opened in 2021 and has welcomed more than 170,000 guests.

The new resort is expected to create approximately 300 direct jobs, along with additional employment opportunities across the region, while supporting year-round tourism and partnerships with local suppliers and tourism organizations.

Sustainability is also a key element of the project, with more than 61% of the property dedicated to green space. The landscaping strategy will prioritize native species and the restoration and extension of existing forest cover.

Club Med Tremblant is targeting LEED Gold certification for construction and Green Globe certification for operations, with plans focused on low-impact construction, reduced energy consumption and local sourcing.

Club Med Tremblant is scheduled to welcome its first guests in December 2028.
