Star of the Seas

Royal Caribbean announces the name of its next Icon class ship

MIAMI — Royal Caribbean has revealed the name of its next Icon class ship, set to debut in summer 2025.

Called Star of the Seas, the highly anticipated ship, currently under construction in Turku, Finland, is a follow up to Icon of the Seas, Royal Caribbean’ International’s first Icon Class ship, which debuted in October 2022. That first ship set a single-day booking record and led to the highest volume booking week in the brand’s then 53-year history. This unprecedented demand sparked Royal Caribbean to release 2025-2026 vacations on Icon three months ahead of schedule.

Following Icon’s success, Star of the Seas will feature a combination of every kind of vacation that’s unique to Icon Class, from the beach retreat to the resort escape and the theme park adventure. Star will also be Royal Caribbean’s third ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), and upon completion will be the line’s most sustainable ship to date.

If Star of the Seas is anything like its predecessor, cruisers are in for a real treat. Icon of the Seas includes six record-breaking waterslides at Thrill Island’s Category 6 waterpark, seven pools, Surfside, a stay-all-day neighbourhood for young families, over 40 food and beverage venues and much more.

More details about Star of the Seas will be revealed at a later date. For now, click here for more information.
