Bookings open for Wyndham Grand Barbados

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Wyndham Grand has opened bookings for its newest resort, Wyndham Grand Barbados, Sam Lord’s Castle Resort & Spa.

The 422-room, all-inclusive, oceanfront hotel, which marks Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ entrance into Barbados, will welcome its first guests beginning Oct. 12 with select amenities. A formal grand opening will follow in early 2024.

“Barbados offers the perfect backdrop for a chic and upscale getaway – lush, tropical gardens, uninterrupted ocean views and an array of opportunities to unplug, unwind and make lasting memories with friends and family,” said Gustavo Viescas, president, Latin America and Caribbean, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

“Wyndham Grand Barbados brings all of that to life on our legendary grounds, allowing guests to take a step back to practice self-care and immerse themselves in the beauty of the nature around them,” he added.

Nestled on the southeastern side of Barbados, just 15 minutes from Grantley International Airport, the new-build hotel is located on the former site of Sam Lord’s Castle, once renowned for pirates during the 19th century. It will offer 422 guestrooms, including 37 suites, with sustainable designs and lanai-style private balconies.

At peak operation, guests can enjoy contemporary cuisine at more than 10 dining venues, including the Mediterranean Marketplace, pop-up food trucks and more. The resort also features a specialty farm-to-fork experience with locally sourced ingredients from nearby farmers, fishermen and purveyors.

Other highlights include a 13,000 square-foot spa with a pool area and deck, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, a sunrise yoga centre, lagoon-style swimming pools, a kids centre, butler service, tennis and pickleball courses. The resort also offers 15,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting and event space that can accommodate up to 1,100 guests. And as part of its commitment to the environment, the upscale, eco-hotel features sustainably-sourced wood, a chef’s garden, eco-friendly alternatives to single-use plastics, high-efficiency fixtures, LED bulbs and sensors in the guestrooms that detect when guests are gone to automatically engage thermostats and reduce excess energy demand.

To celebrate its upcoming debut, the hotel has announced a special opening offer. Now through June 19, 2024, guests can take advantage of 20% off stays with bookings made before Nov. 30, 2023.
