OTTAWA — Air Transat could be widening its horizons with new license approvals.

The Canadian Transportation Agency has issued Air Transat licenses to operate, through codesharing, scheduled international service to Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Thailand.

Airlines often apply to the CTA for licenses to operate or codeshare on routes that may not transpire for years, if at all.

Air Transat’s codeshare partners include Turkish Airlines, which flies to over 350 destinations in more than 130 countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Thailand.

The interline and codeshare agreements  between Air Transat and Turkish Airlines came into effect in fall 2025.
