Adventure Canada increases commission protection for agents

TORONTO — Adventure Canada is doing its part to support travel advisors by increasing agent commission protection and eliminating processing fees.

Effective immediately, the company, which specializes in small-ship expedition travel in the Canadian Arctic and Greenland, is guaranteeing a minimum of US$250 dollars per client in commission protection and is also getting rid of processing fees on sales.

In a video to travel advisors, Matthew James Swan, Director of Business Development at Adventure Canada, says this is just one way the company is showing that advisors mean the world to them.

“For Adventure Canada, as a tour operator, we knew that we had to step up to the plate. Words can only mean so much but you also have to take action,” he says. “What we’ve been doing throughout the course of this pandemic is reaching out to our travel agent community and asking that integral question, ‘What can we do for you as a valued business partner to ensure that you’re being supported?’

“We want you to know that your voice is being heard and we want you to know your voice does have an impact.”

Based on agent feedback throughout this past year, Adventure Canada also created a new Travel Agent Booking Terms and Conditions mandate
