VIVA sailing into expedition cruising starting in 2021

FORT LAUDERDALE — River cruise specialist VIVA Cruises is entering the expedition market with its new ship MS Seaventure.

Formerly the MS Bremen, the ship will relaunch in May 2021 as a four-star expedition cruise experience for 164 guests.

VIVA Cruises is offering a 10% early booking discount valid on all expeditions booked before the end of February 2020.

Commission starting at 10% is available to the travel trade with group allocations and net rates available.

In October 2019 VIVA announced it was entering the North American market, with operations led by Joni Rein, who most recently headed up Scenic Group USA. The cruise line opened sales to the North American travel trade for its fleet of 10 premium river cruise vessels that sail the Seine, Rhine, Main, Danube, Vltava, Elbe, Moselle, Rhone rivers and Black Sea.

Seaventure will depart Amsterdam on May 15, 2021, arriving in Warnemunde, Hamburg on May 21.

The ship will then sail on 13 unique itineraries from the rugged coasts of Iceland to the Brazilian Rainforest, including:

• Baltic Sea
• Iceland & Spitsbergen
• Iceland & Greenland
• Iceland & Canada / Quebec
• Transaltlantic
• South America

“We have always aimed to offer our customers a different perspective on the destinations they visit and the launch of our expedition cruises takes this one step further,” said VIVA Cruises COO, Andrea Kruse. “We will be offering a truly unique small ship experience without compromising on quality or our high standards. Our itineraries offer something very different for travellers who want to get close to some of the most breathtaking scenery and nature on earth.”

As a small ship, the SEAVENTURE has 82 cabins and suites. Its size allows it to enter remote harbours and winding rivers and can change course at short notice to observe animals and nature. Its unique design also means it can glide safely through icy seas.

The ship’s fleet of 12 sturdy Zodiacs allow passengers to explore uncharted territories and view nature at close hand.

VIVA Cruises’ all-inclusive product, available on all itineraries, covers full-board with breakfast buffet, lunch, dinner (multi-course gourmet menus) and snacks; a gourmet restaurant with fine dining; and high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (mineral water, soft drinks, juices, various coffee specialties, tea, sparkling wine, aperitif, house wines, selection of beers, long drinks, cocktail of the day). Tips and gratuities are also included.

The 82 cabins offer a comfortable bedroom and living area with air conditioning, double or single beds with an additional sofa bed, modern flat-screen TV with live transmission of the ship’s outboard camera, DVD system, satellite telephone and Wi-Fi access, spa bathrobe, hairdryer, travel alarm clock and private safe. Some of the cabins have a private balcony and all feature a free fully stocked mini-bar with refreshments and cabin service available from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
