WestJet gets 7% more passengers in Q3; boosts September traffic by 16%

CALGARY — Some 5.9 million passengers flew with WestJet in the third quarter of this year, up 7% year over year.

For the month of September, passenger traffic increased 16.3% year over year while capacity grew 12.6%, for a load factor of 79.9%, 2.5 percentage points.

“We are pleased with our fifth consecutive month of double-digit traffic growth, as we achieved our second highest load factor for a third quarter at 84% and flew a record 5.9 million guests,” said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky.
