WestJet brings back popular Hamilton-Vancouver route to meet demand

CALGARY – In response to high demand, WestJet has announced it will once again launch service between Hamilton and Vancouver, commencing next spring.

Four-time weekly service between John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport and Vancouver International Airport will kick off on April 30, moving to a daily flight from June 28-Sept. 7. It will return to four-time weekly flights until Oct. 27.

“The people of the greater Hamilton area adore WestJet’s low fare, high care service as evidenced by the high demand we saw on the route this past summer,” said Bob Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President, Commercial. “We heard the citizens of Hamilton and we want to thank them for their loyalty by bringing back even more nonstop service, giving them access to Vancouver’s 27 nonstop routes on approximately 63 daily departures.”

Vijay Bathija, John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport’s President and CEO, added: “Hamilton to Vancouver is one of the most requested services we receive from passengers in Hamilton and surrounding region, both for business and leisure. We are thrilled with today’s announcement and thank our longstanding partner, WestJet, for recognizing this need.”

Hamilton/Vancouver flights will be operated on WestJet’s Boeing 737NG aircraft featuring Plus, Canada’s only system-wide, premium economy seating. Introductory one-way fares start from $244.78.
