U.S. travel agencies’ air ticket sales remain flat compared to 2012ARLINGTON, VA — The consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S.-based travel agencies increased 0.39% year-over-year in the first eight months of 2013 compared to the same period last year, totaling $60.3 billion vs. $60.1 billion in 2012.

Ticket transactions so far for 2013 decreased 1.19% over the same period in 2012 to 99.3 million. Year-to-date passenger segments increased 2.2% to 253.9 million compared to 248.4 million in the eight months of 2012 and 253.3 million in 2011.
