Travel South USA’s Southern hospitality shines through at Toronto events

TORONTO — Travel South USA brought its own brand of warm Southern hospitality to Toronto recently, with two days of events showcasing 21 CVBs.

With travel agents, product buyers, and media in attendance, the events at Toronto’s Malaparte in the TIFF Bell Lightbox highlighted iconic Southern experiences, culinary traditions, and four-season outdoor adventures.

With more than 100 meetings, the event is just the latest example of Travel South USA’s commitment to Canada and efforts to increase tourism in 2022-2023, says Liz Bittner, president & CEO of Travel South USA.

“We are so excited to be here in Canada and to welcome y’all to the South,” said Bittner. “We understand how important the Canadian market is, and we are investing resources to share our story and educate the market on all the authentic experiences the South has to offer.”

She added: “We know the drive market is expected to do extremely well in the next year and air access into the region is growing quickly. When it comes to live music, incredible food, natural beauty and warm hospitality, nowhere else compares to the South. We look forward to welcoming Canadians this fall and winter!”

Participating Travel South USA partners included the Alabama Tourism Department; Atlanta CVB; Greater Birmingham CVB; Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum; Visit KC; Kentucky Dept. of Tourism; VisitLEX; Memphis Tourism; Miles Partnership; Visit Mississippi; Nashville CVB; Visit North Carolina; Northern Kentucky CVB; Outer Banks Visitors Bureau; Visit Raleigh; Discover South Carolina; Explore St. Louis; Tennessee Tourism; Tupelo CVB; West Virginia Tourism Office; and New Orleans & Company.
