TORONTO — New Zealand is one of the fastest growing travel destinations for young travellers according to global youth travel company Topdeck Travel.
Following a global increase of almost 50% in sales for the ‘Land of the Long White Cloud’, Topdeck is already officially guaranteeing 100% of its New Zealand trips only two months into the 2014/2015 season.
Topdeck General Manager, Sarah Clark said the Topdeck New Zealand brand had grown from strength to strength in recent years.
“Our success ultimately comes down to our long-standing commitment to give young people the trip of a lifetime,” she said.
“Young travellers are looking for a more personalized, handcrafted travel experience and that is something we have really honed in on – from the quality of our accommodation to our crew making dreams come true on the road.”
Topdeck’s New Zealand trips cover bucket list destinations like Fox Glacier and Tongariro National Park as well as overnight stays in a traditional Maori Marae, farm visits and other experiences many backpackers miss out on.
According to Tourism New Zealand, the youth market currently makes up 25% of travellers to the country and has been a designated focus market since 2010.
