Three ways to do Christmas in Europe this year with Trafalgar

TORONTO  — Trafalgar is getting into the festive spirit with the launch of its 2018/2019 Christmas Spectaculars European program, featuring three handcrafted trips that highlight Europe’s most magical holiday markets.

“Christmas in Europe is an absolutely bucket list experience and what better way to connect with the magic of the season than an in-depth experience to some of the world’s most iconic Christmas markets,” said Wolf Paunic, president of Trafalgar and Costsaver. “While travelling on one of Trafalgar’s Christmas Spectaculars programs, clients will truly enjoy The Good Life with the festive charm of enchanting holiday décor, traditional tasty treats and spectacular winter wonderland landscapes.”

The trips are as follows:

  • Christmas Markets of Austria, Germany and Switzerland: Clients will arrive in Vienna where they’ll join a Local Specialist for a sightseeing tour and visit Christkindlmarkt for delicious gingerbread and ‘Glühwein’. They’ll also stop in Salzburg for a walking tour of Mirabell Gardens and the Old City before arriving in Munich for two nights.
  • Festive St. Petersburg and Moscow: This seven-day guided vacation includes highlights like a folklore show, a scenic high-speed train ride to Moscow, a visit to Moscow’s Christmas Market and a sightseeing tour of St. Basil’s Cathedral and the Kremlin.
  • German Christmas Market: While on this eight-day adventure, clients will arrive in Frankfurt before journeying to the medieval walled town of Rothenburg. Highlights include the famous Christkindlesmarkt, the UNESCO World Heritage town of Weimar, Dresden’s Striezelmarkt (Germany’s oldest Christmas market), and an exclusive visit to the Berlin TV Tower before it opens to the public.
