MONTREAL — VIA Rail has just launched a ‘Travel Agent Support’ Training Course on Travelweek’s Learning Centre where agents can learn about VIA Rail’s services and networks.
Agents who complete the course will be entered to win a trip for two Vancouver-Toronto (or the other direction) one-way in a Sleeper Plus cabin for two. Agents will also be able to use the course to earn CTC credits.
“The travel trade is an important distribution channel for us and we appreciate every opportunity we have to educate agents on all of the wonderful options and features we have to offer,” says Tracey Allen-Nurmi, senior manager, domestic & international sales, VIA Rail Canada Inc.
The course has six modules and should take about 45 minutes to complete. It will explore the VIA network and the different routes available to passengers. Furthermore, it will explain the different services onboard the train, as well as the different classes and sleeping accommodation. Finally, it will provide travel agents with the required information to make bookings and find support from VIA.
“This program allows us to build on our continued efforts to educate Canada’s travel agency community on the nation’s passenger rail service. VIA Rail offers efficient, environmentally sustainable and cost-effective transportation coast to coast throughout the year, while providing the opportunity to experience some of the most beautiful scenery this country has to offer,” continues Allen-Nurmi.
