St. Lawrence north shore tour includes flights from Montreal or Quebec City

RIVIERE AU TONNERRE, Que. – A new offering this summer from Voyages CoSte, a co-operative travel company in Minganie, Que., aims to make it easier to explore the north shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

The five-day package includes a return flight with Pascan Aviation from Montreal or Quebec City to Sept-Iles where the independent tour kicks off. A rental car, lodging and some meals are included. Accommodation is in the communities of Riviere-au-Tonnerre, Natashquan and Havre-St-Pierre.

Optional extras include a one-day outing to Anticosti Island.

Participants leave their cars in Riviere-au-Tonnerre and cross by boat for a guided bus tour and picnic on the island. The crossing is two hours each way.

Another optional excursion is a guided boat tour of Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve to view limestone monoliths scattered on the beaches.

The package starts at $1,139 per person and is available between July 1 and Aug. 15.
