PORTLAND, OR — The second group of ‘Sell Your Way to the USA’ incentive winners have returned following a week spent exploring Oregon’s Mt. Hood, Willamette Valley and Oregon Coast regions and the vibrant city of Portland.
Maria Karagioules with Voyage International I.T.A. LTEE in St Laurent, QC, Johanne Berthiaume with Passion Voyage in Montreal and Shannon Aishford with Travel Nation Canada in Mississauga took three of the 12 top spots in the ‘Sell Your Way to the U.S.A.’ contest, winning a land and air inclusive FAM trip to Oregon for their efforts.
This second ‘Sell Your Way to the USA’ prize trip follows up on the first special outing, to Washington, DC, by three top-selling Canadian travel advisors.
‘Sell Your Way to the USA’ launched in October 2022, with Air Canada and contest partners Utah Office of Tourism, Washington, DC, Visit Seattle and Travel Oregon. Participating agents received one point for each roundtrip Air Canada return airfare booked to anywhere in the U.S. from Oct. 15 – Nov. 30, 2022, with an additional point awarded for a PNR that included Seattle, Salt Lake City, Portland and/ or Washington, DC.
EXPLORING OREGON
After experiencing Air Canada’s award-winning service, Karagioules, Berthiaume and Aishford were escorted by guide Daniel Johnson of First Nature Tours. First up: Mt. Hood, Timberline Lodge (for a guided snowshoe tour) and then a wine tasting at Mawr Vineyard. Other highlights include Yaquina Head Lighthours and a try at glassblowing at the Native American owned and operated Oregon Coast Glassworks in Newport.
In Portland the group experienced the Portland Japanese Garden, a Portland by Mouth food tour in the bustling Buckman neighbourhood, and Portland’s best known arts district, ‘The Pearl’.
The group stayed at Mt. Hood Oregon Resort, The Independence Hotel in the Willamette Valley and the Elizabeth Oceanfront Suites in Newport.
DAILY SERVICE WITH AIR CANADA
Air Canada offers daily service between Vancouver and Portland which makes it an easy option for those wanting a quick getaway or an extended holiday, said Travel Oregon’s Global Sales Manager, Lorna Davis.
“Travel Oregon, along with our regional partners, is thrilled to have hosted the winners from the Sell Your Way to the USA incentive with Air Canada and Brand USA,” said Davis.
“It was wonderful to be able to share a little of what an Oregon experience feels like with the top sales professionals from this incentive. The opportunity lends itself to a genuine enthusiasm for all-things-Oregon when promoting the destination to clients,” she added.
Two more trips – to Seattle, and to Utah – are on the horizon for six more Sell Your Way to the USA winners in the next few months.
