Secrets Tides Punta Cana under construction ahead of fall 2023 opening

PUNTA CANA — The expansion of Apple Leisure Group’s AMR Collection continues with the affiliate signing of Secrets Tides Punta Cana in the D.R.

The adults-only new-build will be the third Secrets Resorts & Spas by AMR Collection property in Punta Cana, and the 13th Punta Cana property from AMR Collection.

When the 670-room Secrets Tides Punta Cana opens in fall 2023, it will offer swim-out suites, all with views of either the Caribbean Sea or the resort’s gardens. There will also be six gourmet à la carte dining choices, including a Mediterranean Asian fusion restaurant and a Brazilian-themed restaurant, a buffet restaurant, eight bars and lounges, pool and beach service, unlimited international and domestic top-shelf spirits, 24-hour room and concierge services, Secrets Spa by Pevonia, daily activities and entertainment, nightly events and more.

The May 12 groundbreaking took place during the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE). Attendees included the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, President of Codelpa, Álvaro Peña, President & CEO of Apple Leisure Group and Executive Vice President of Hyatt, Alejandro Reynal, President of Grupo Martinón, Enrique Martinón, President of Asonahores, Rafael Blanco and Vice President of Asonahores, Andrés Marranzini.

“We are thrilled to introduce Secrets Tides Punta Cana as AMR Collection’s newest addition to further strengthen the brand’s presence in the Dominican Republic, where AMR Collection has 13 branded resorts – including 11 open and two under construction – and 6,500 rooms across five award-winning brands,” said Apple Leisure Group’s Group President of Global Business Development, Javier Coll.

The new resort has an investment of $175 million by owner Alvaro Peña of Codelpa, he added.
