Porter adds new service for Halifax, Moncton and Fredericton

TORONTO — Porter Airlines is adding three new nonstop routes to the Maritimes from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

Nonstop Halifax service is set to start April 7 with up to three daily roundtrips in summer. Nonstop flights to Fredericton and Moncton both start May 5, with one daily year-round non-stop flight each.

This new service is in addition to existing flights for each market that stop in Montreal or Ottawa, and don’t require passengers to change aircraft.

Porter’s President and CEO, Michael Deluce, says the added connectivity ups the value proposition for Porter passengers in Atlantic Canada, offering convenient links with Porter’s network in Ontario and the U.S. For Newfoundland travellers, that includes the creation of a single connection trip to Toronto via Halifax.

“These three established Porter markets in Atlantic Canada will see significant service improvements with new year-round, non-stop routes and many opportunities for convenient connecting flights. It also demonstrates our commitment to investing in Billy Bishop Airport, which serves as an important regional transportation hub and provides exceptional access to central Toronto,” says Deluce.
