Porter adds more flights to new Ottawa-Charlottetown route

TORONTO — Porter Airlines is ramping up service between Ottawa and Charlottetown following high demand from travellers.

Previously announced to kick off on May 17, 2023, the new service between the two cities will move up from the initial seven weekly roundtrip flights, to 11x/weekly between May 17 and June 23, 2024, as well as between Sept. 5 and Oct. 28, 2023.

This further improves to 14 flights per week during the peak summer travel season, between June 24 and Sept. 4, 2023.

“There’s been a great response from the community and increasing frequency will allow passengers to connect to more destinations across our network,” said Kevin Jackson, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Porter Airlines.

The nonstop flights between Ottawa and Charlottetown are to be served by 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft. All passengers will enjoy elevated onboard service, including premium snacks and free beer and wine served in glassware.

With the introduction of the new route, Porter will operate nine nonstop routes from Ottawa International Airport this summer. Detailed schedules and Porter Escapes hotel and flight packages are available on www.flyporter.com.
