Playa Hotels & Resorts to manage new Wyndham Alltra resort in Samaná

FORT LAUDERDALE — Playa Hotels & Resorts has added a new Wyndham Alltra resort to its growing portfolio.

The hotel owner, operator and developer has signed a new management agreement of a 404-room resort in Samaná, Dominican Republic, which will be renovated and rebranded as Wyndham Alltra Samaná. Catering to the all-ages market, the rebranded resort is expected to open in the third quarter of 2023.

Located in the northeast corner of the Samaná peninsula, considered an up-and-coming area known for its spectacular beaches and the Cordillera Samaná mountain range, the resort will offer renovated common areas, food and beverage outlets and guestrooms designed to cater to the upper-midscale segment.

This marks the fourth Wyndham Alltra resort managed by Playa Hotels & Resorts since the brand’s launch in 2021. A strategic alliance between Playa Hotels & Resorts and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Wyndham Alltra is Wyndham’s first all-inclusive brand and its 22nd overall. It currently comprises the 458-room Wyndham Alltra Cancun, the 287-room Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen, the 229-room Wyndham Alltra Riviera Nayarit, and now the 404-room Wyndham Alltra Samaná.

“We are pleased to continue the growth of the Wyndham Alltra brand and are excited to launch a new property in a fast-growing region of the Dominican Republic,” said Fernando Mulet, Chief Investment Officer for Playa Hotels & Resorts. “Many developers are beginning to hear about Samaná and we’re excited to support the awareness of this desirable destination with the opening of this new resort.”
