  • Peru is big business for any tour operator selling South America, and that’s especially true for Peru trips including Machu Picchu. The Canadian government’s regional travel advisory for Cuzco, including the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, still stands, amid many weeks of civil unrest. But with Machu Picchu reopened as of mid-February, and with the Inca Trail reopening March 1 after its annual maintenance, tour operators are on their way back. “G Adventures continue to monitor the situation, but most of our itineraries will run as normal,” says Sarah Miginiac, G Adventures’ GM Latin America.
