Motto by Hilton enters Latin America market with new hotel in Peru

LIMA — A new Motto by Hilton hotel is coming to Lima, Peru, marking the brand’s debut in the Caribbean and Latin America.

As per a newly signed franchise agreement, Motto by Hilton Lima Miraflores is scheduled to break ground in May 2020 with an expected opening date in 2022. Upon completion it will boast 150 rooms, a coffee house, a colonial-inspired patio, open eateries, co-working areas, and mid-century modern furniture with European, African and Asian influences.

Guestrooms will have an average footprint of 165 square feet and feature space-saving amenities like wall beds, lofted beds, segmented shower and toilet stalls and multi-use furniture. Guests also have the option to book multiple connecting rooms in advance, a patent-pending feature.

At the heart of the hotel will be the Motto Commons, a gathering space that provides access to and seating for the coffee house, bar and check-in. It will be used by guests and locals for work and play, and will offer varied seating types, convenient power plugs and plenty of natural light.

There’ll be plenty for guests to see and do off-site as the hotel will be situated in the vibrant neighbourhood of Miraflores, home to colourful street art, lush green spaces and exciting attractions like Casa Aliaga, one of the oldest colonial mansions in the city, and the arts-centric Barranco District. Miraflores is also where visitors will find popular beaches such as Los Yuyos Beach and Makaha Beach.

“Marking our debut in Latin America, we knew Miraflores would be a natural fit in our portfolio as it’s an exciting market with a rich history and vibrant culture that aligns with our brand’s goal to be present in the most sought-after cities in the world, said Tripp McLaughlin, global brand head, Motto by Hilton.

Juan Corvinos, vice president, development, Caribbean and Latin America, Hilton, added: “Over the last five years we have more than doubled the number of properties in the Caribbean and Latin America region, and Peru has played a very important role in our growth strategy. The dynamism of a country like Peru with a stable economy and continuous tourism investment makes it the perfect place for the debut of the Motto by Hilton brand.”

Additional deals under Motto by Hilton are in various stages of development in prime urban locations around the world, including New York City, Indianapolis, Washington D.C., and Copenhagen.
