TORONTO — More than 100 travel agents specializing in long-haul and luxury travel were treated to an evening reception at Casa Loma complete with symphony orchestra performance, as part of an industry event hosted by Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts and Emirates.

Jumeirah was represented by Thomas Civitano, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Americas and Emirates by Don McWilliam, Manager, Canada.

Jumeirah consists of a group of 21 ultra luxury hotels, including seven hotels in Dubai, three in London, two in Turkey and the Maldives and one in Frankfurt, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Shanghai, Baku, Mallorca and Rome. Civitano said the group distinguishes itself by offering “spectacular luxury service and spectacular products in spectacular locations”. The hotels are culturally connected to their respective destinations, he added.

The iconic Burj Al  Arab Jumeirah has become Dubai’s world famous landmark.  It supports a helicopter pad in addition to 14 Rolls Royces for use by arriving clients.

Emirates operates out of Dubai International Airport which has surpassed Heathrow as the world’s busiest airport for international passengers, while Emirates has become the world’s largest international airline. It serves 150 destinations in 80 countries with a fleet of 249 aircraft with 66 more on order.  The fleet includes A380s and Boeing 777s.
