Hyatt expands Canadian footprint with more than 40 properties in pipeline

CHICAGO — Hyatt Hotels Corporation has no fewer than 10 properties expected to open in Canada in 2027, and more than 40 deals in its Canadian pipeline.

The company’s portfolio of open hotels in this country has quadrupled in less than a decade. The growth is bringing new properties to established destinations, along with brand debuts in B.C, Ontario and Saskatchewan.

“Our growth reflects the strength of our relationships with owners and developers, the breadth of our brands and the flexibility of our development models,” said Julienne Smith, Head of Americas Growth, Hyatt. “Canada remains an important market with significant opportunity to expand our brand presence.”

Recent openings include The Clayfield, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, in Niagara-on-the-Lake; Hyatt Place Vancouver / Metrotown in Burnaby; Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview; and Hyatt House Thunder Bay.

Hyatt is also expanding its upper-midscale offerings with Hyatt Select, designed for hotel conversions, and extended-stay brand Hyatt Studios. Hyatt Select Kingston is expected to open in Ontario later this year, marking the brand’s Canadian debut.

In SK, Hyatt Select Prince Albert and Hyatt Studios Prince Albert are scheduled to open in 2027 as a dual-branded development, bringing Hyatt Studios to Canada for the first time.

In the luxury space, Park Hyatt Vancouver is among the anticipated additions, bringing the high-end brand to Canada’s West Coast alongside the existing Park Hyatt Toronto.

Another Canadian first will come through Hyatt’s collaboration with Haida Enterprise Corporation, the economic development arm of the Haida Nation. Two properties on Graham Island in Xaadáa Gwáay│Xaada Gwaay.yaay (Haida Gwaii), B.C., will join the Unscripted by Hyatt collection: Haida House at Tllaal (Tlell) and Ocean House at Tlaga Gawtlaas (Old Massett).
