CALGARY — WestJet is expanding its international reach through a new codeshare partnership with Qatar Airways, connecting the Canadian carrier’s domestic network with the airline’s global hub in Doha.
Announced Oct. 26, the reciprocal agreement initially allows WestJet to place its code on Qatar Airways’ nonstop flights between Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Doha (DOH), as well as Montréal (YUL) and Doha. Qatar Airways will place its code on select WestJet-operated flights from Toronto and Montréal. In a future phase, WestJet plans to add its code to select destinations beyond Doha, extending access to more of Qatar Airways’ global network.
“Building on a trusted relationship that has spanned more than a decade, we’re pleased to offer guests greater choice, convenience and access through a single booking and check-in experience,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Group Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer.
