Holland America guests who book with future cruise consultant earn double onboard credit

SEATTLE — Holland America Line is doubling up on its rewards for guests who make a new booking with a future cruise consultant while onboard a Holland America ship.

Guests will now earn double the onboard spending credit (up to US$400 per person). Travel professionals continue to earn full commission and receive full revenue credit for all bookings made during a cruise.

“New bookings made on our ships with a future cruise consultant are very important to Holland America Line and should be a goal for all our travel professionals,” said Eva Jenner, Holland America Line’s vice president of North America sales. “When a guest books onboard it’s like an annuity for their travel professional.”

Jenner added that “a booking automatically applies to the travel professional of record” and that the “cruise deposit also generates a booking confirmation notice to them so they are aware of the new booking even before the guests return home.”

Onboard spending credits can also be earned by purchasing a Future Cruise Deposit (FCD) from the sales consultant during a cruise that allows guests to decide on an itinerary at a later date. However, FCDs are not eligible for the double spending credit.

Travel professionals are sent a Future Cruise Deposit confirmation when the FCD is purchased.
