Holland America debuts new Asia specialist training course

SEATTLE — Holland America Line has launched a new Holland America Line Academy Specialist Course to help agents sell Asia cruises.

Called ‘Asia: Ancient, Modern and Miraculous’, the course takes 15-20 minutes to complete and includes information about the advantages of a Holland America Line cruise in the region. Agents will learn how to identify and sell to the best prospects for a Holland America Asia cruise, describe the itineraries and ports that it visits, and gain tips on how to increase their sales.

“Asia is one of the world’s fastest-growing and lucrative cruising destinations, and we created this course to ensure that travel advisors understand our itineraries and can take advantage of the rewarding opportunities that Asia provides,” said Eva Jenner, vice president of sales for Holland America Line. “All our courses are designed to help travel advisors sell our cruises with confidence, and the new Asia course is extremely beneficial in broadening travel advisors’ knowledge and sales skills to this amazing cruise destination.”

The Asia course is available on GoHal.com. Agents who graduate from the Holland America Line Academy Core Course will earn Silver level, while those who continue on and complete two of the Specialist Training Courses will earn Gold. Agents who complete three Specialist Training Courses will earn Platinum. In addition to a diploma, lapel pin and luggage tag, rewards include a US$50 shipboard credit on Travel Advisor Appreciation or full fares and priority boarding.

Agents who complete courses also earn training credits with ACTA.
