Hilton’s first Canopy by Hilton makes its debut in Cancun

CANCUN — Hilton’s first-ever Canopy by Hilton has opened its doors in the heart of Cancun’s famed Hotel Zone.

The new lifestyle brand in the Caribbean and Latin America made its debut on Jan. 28 with the opening of the 174-room Canopy by Hilton Cancun La Isla. Ideally situated just 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport, the new hotel overlooks Nichupté Bay and offers direct access to Cancun’s best-known shopping destination, La Isla Entertainment Village.

“Cancun is one of Mexico’s most visited destinations, offering an array of attractions to entice every traveller,” said Jorge Giannattasio, senior vice president and head of operations, Caribbean and Latin America. “It is the perfect place to introduce the Canopy by Hilton lifestyle brand in the Caribbean and Latin America, as we continue to expand our portfolio across the region.”

Among the hotel’s many amenities is the Wander Rooftop Bar, a 9,500 square-foot sanctuary that features an outdoor pool, a shallow chaise lounge soaking pool, hammock swings, firepits and a bar with rotating local art exhibits and live music performances.

The hotel’s lively epicentre is Azulinda Café and Bar, which offers a dynamic Mexican menu. Connected directly to La Isla shopping mall, the restaurant allows guests to dine on authentic dishes like chiltepin aguachile and made-to-order tacos, either indoors in a seating area or lounge or outdoors on a terrace overlooking the canal.

Guests will also gravitate towards Canopy Central, featuring a granite bar and communal dining tables where they can enjoy daily complimentary evening tastings of local beer and wine.

In terms of wellness offerings, there’s a complimentary 24-hour oceanfront fitness studio and Transfer Lounge, a comfortable space where guests can freshen up for business or adventure when arriving early or departing late.

Meetings and special occasions are well accommodated with over 14,000 square feet of event space. There are three meeting rooms, an outdoor terrace, flexible space for cocktails at Wander Rooftop, and a co-working space overlooking the bay.
