Harmony of the Seas passengers cry foul

MIAMI — Royal Caribbean was lambasted on social media after passengers onboard its brand new Harmony of the Seas complained that the ship was not ready to sail, calling the vessel “a construction site”.

Passengers tweeted pictures of scaffolding, holes in the floor, ladders in the hallways and tools and extension cables left on decks near pools. There were also complaints that the majority of activities for kids were not up and running.

The ship left Rotterdam on May 22 for its first cruise, a four-night sailing. According to bbc.com, the cruise line admitted that “final finishing touches”. Royal Caribbean also pointed out that passengers paid discounted rates for the cruises, made possible by an early delivery from the shipyard.
