GBTA announces November dates for annual convention

GBTA Convention 2018 coming to San Diego, registration now open

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Registration is officially open for GBTA Convention 2018, which will be held in San Diego next year from Aug. 11-15.

The annual Convention, which celebrates its 50th edition in 2018, has grown to become the world’s largest managed travel event, featuring nearly 7,000 attendees on an annual basis. During the event, guests will share new practices, policies and solutions to the industry’s greatest issues, and discover new products and technologies that change the business travel landscape.

“The rapid acceleration of change taking place in business travel is clearly on everyone’s mind,” said Michael W. McCormick. “Ever-evolving security threats present new hurdles to address when it comes to traveller safety on the road and meeting their duty of care responsibilities.”

McCormick went on to note that next year’s Convention theme will be MOMENTUM. “We are proud of the progress we have made over the past five decades, and look forward to the advancements yet to come as we look to the future.”

GBTA Convention 2018 will feature world-class keynote speakers, more than 100 education sessions, the largest business travel expo floor, and a wide selection of professional development opportunities. The corporate Travel Team Program is also back next year. First introduced in 2015, the program helps companies bring more members of their global travel buyer team to GBTA Convention. Participating organizations will receive unlimited complimentary buyer registrations after purchasing four paid registrations. Attendees must be active, direct members of GBTA to qualify.

Attendee registration is open now. Guests are encouraged to register by the early bird deadline of Jan. 16 to receive the lowest rates available.
