Flair launches $50 million lawsuit against leasing companies after plane seizures

Flair Airlines heading back to the U.S. with service to 6 sun destinations

EDMONTON — Flair Airlines is heading back to the U.S., with service to six U.S. destinations scheduled to begin in October 2021.

The ultra low-cost carrier is offering flights to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando-Sanford, Phoenix-Mesa, Hollywood-Burbank, Palm Springs and Las Vegas.

This isn’t Flair’s first foray south of the border, but it’s certainly the most ambitious.

The ULCC first began flying to the U.S. in November 2018 from Winnipeg, Edmonton and Toronto.

With this new schedule just released, eight Canadian gateways – Halifax, Montreal, Kitchener-Waterloo, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa and Abbotsford – will receive service to a variety of the U.S. destinations.

“We want Canadians to hear us loud and clear, you don’t have to rack up debt or save for months to enjoy travel this winter,” says Stephen Jones, President and CEO, Flair Airlines.

Added Jones: “For years, Canadians have been over-paying for air travel to domestic and U.S destinations. Flair is here to ensure that Canadians are no longer taken advantage of and receive low prices for even better service. The fares to our new destinations ensure Canadians can easily enjoy travel this winter and spend some much-deserved time away exploring sunny new places.”

Fares start between $79 to $109 one-way.

Jones says Flair’s goal is 50 aircraft in five years. The ULCC’s expansion to 26 destinations most recently included Montreal on July 1.
