TDC’s ‘wellness break’ for advisors returns for second consecutive year

MONTREAL — Transat Distribution Canada (TDC) is marking National Travel Advisor Appreciation Day with the return of a complimentary wellness initiative for travel professionals across the industry.

For the second consecutive year, TDC is inviting advisors from all networks to attend a free live webcast hosted by health and wellness expert Scott Simons. Titled “From Reactive to Proactive in 61 Minutes,” the session will take place May 14, AT 2:00 p.m. EST, with both English and French presentations scheduled.

The initiative is designed to offer advisors a dedicated pause in their busy schedules, while providing practical tools to help manage stress, energy and overall well-being in a fast-paced work environment.

“People are at the heart of our business. Human beings creating experiences for the benefit of other human beings. And at the core of it all are travel advisors,” said Karine Gagnon, General Manager of Transat Distribution Canada. “They listen, guide, reassure and transform the desire to escape into concrete itineraries. In a world where artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly prevalent, their expertise is a safe and reassuring anchor for travellers.”

Gagnon added that the initiative is intended as both recognition and tangible support for advisors across the industry.

“Saying thank you is essential. But moving from words to action, as we are doing with this webcast, truly matters to us at TDC. This energy stopover with Scott Simons aligns perfectly with that intention: helping each person move away from a constant sense of urgency, better manage their energy, and preserve breathing space – even when the pace is intense.”

Drawing on his expertise, Simons will focus on helping advisors shift from a reactive mindset – often driven by last-minute changes and client demands – to a more proactive and sustainable approach.

“I genuinely want to demystify the first steps toward taking control of one’s health. Too often, we think it has to be complicated, intense or perfect. In reality, it starts simply, here and now, with small, repeated, conscious actions,” said Simons.

He also emphasized the broader impact of personal well-being within the workplace and beyond.

“When we elevate ourselves individually, we elevate the collective. Every person who takes care of their energy, presence and health directly influences their team, their environment and their industry. Self-care is not a luxury – it’s a responsibility. When we feel well, we become more present, more grounded and better able to support others. The oxygen mask analogy isn’t just an image – it’s an essential truth.”

The webcast is open to all travel advisors, with space limited. The French session will take place on May 14 at 10 a.m. EST, followed by the English session at 2 p.m. EST.
