TORONTO — It was an evening of good food and great music at the Park Hyatt Toronto, where the Dominican Republic Tourism Board hosted its annual party and unveiled details about its new advertising campaign for Canada.

According to Abdalah Castillo, Chair of the Board, the country’s Minister and President have announced a goal to reach 10 million passengers by the year 2020. As part of the initiative, the Tourism Board will spend over $3 million in marketing efforts in Canada alone next year. This will include a series of television commercials, which will begin airing on Canadian television in January, with the new slogan ‘Dominican Republic has it all’.

Castillo also acknowledged the importance of working with tour operators like Air Canada Vacations, Transat Holidays, Sunwing, TravelBrands and WestJet Vacations to increase passenger arrivals.

He announced 2014 as “the beginning of what’s to come in 2020”.
