Disney plans first new hotel in 20 years in Anaheim

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Disneyland officials have submitted plans to add a fourth Disney-themed hotel in Anaheim, taking advantage of the city’s new policy giving tax incentives to build luxury hotels.

The Orange County Register reports that Disney has proposed a 700-room, four-diamond hotel designed by Walt Disney Imagineering. Construction would start in 2018 and the opening would be scheduled for 2021.

It would be the first hotel built on the Disneyland Resort in nearly 20 years.

Hotel plans include a rooftop restaurant where guests can watch the nightly fireworks, two pools, a fitness facility, concierge service and a kid’s play area.

The average nightly rate would be about $450.
