GENEVA — Explora Journeys has signed a letter of intent with Dutch shipbuilder Den Breejen Shipyard for the construction of its first luxury river ships.

The move marks the brand’s planned entry into river cruising.

Already with three ocean vessels, Explora I, Explora II and Explora III sailing under the company’s ‘Ocean State of Mind’ philosophy – and with three additional ocean liners on the way — the Geneva-based Explora says it wants to bring its European hospitality and design to Europe’s most iconic rivers.

Details on ship design, onboard experiences, delivery schedules and initial itineraries “will be announced in due course,” with bookings opening in 2027, says the cruise line.
