TORONTO — Contiki has launched a brand new series of local trips for Canadian millennial and Gen Z travellers in an effort to stimulate local economies and boost tourism in Canada.
The set of four adventures are available to book now, for travel from December 2020 onward. They run in the Atlantic provinces, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, and have been designed for locals, by locals, and with locals.
The itineraries include the four-day ‘Ski Whistler’, the five-day ‘Ski Banff’, the six-day ‘Ontario & Quebec in a Week’, and the six-day ‘Atlantic Canada.’
Canada-rich experiences that clients can enjoy with these itineraries include a special stay at Pangea Pods in Whistler (available to book from December 2020 onward on ‘Ski Whistler’), a stay at the Tunnel Mountain Resort in Banff (available to book from December 2020 onward on ‘Ski Banff’), a lesson in maple syrup production at the family-run Sucrerie de la Montagne sugar shack (available to book from December 2020 onward on ‘Ontario & Quebec in a Week), a bike ride along the Confederation Trail (available to book from summer 2021 onward on ‘Atlantic Canada’, and a kayak adventure in the Bay of Fundy (available to book from May 2021 onward on ‘Atlantic Canada’).
All four itineraries will be available at 15% off until Oct. 30, 2020. This offer is combinable with the $99 deposit, which clients can book until Sept. 15, 2020.
“After a challenging year in the travel industry and for the Canadian economy, Contiki has chosen to take a positive step forward and launch new immersive local trips that will aim to help revitalize tourism in Canada and support our loyal agent community,” said Sheralyn Berry, president of Contiki Canada. “We also understand there’s strong appetite for local travel and unique experiences among millennial and Gen Z travellers to play their part in giving back to local businesses, so we hope these trips will be well received.”
Contiki is encouraging travel agents to join its agents-only Facebook page where over the next several weeks it will be highlighting authentic Canadian foods inspired by local cultures and traditions. From now through Sept. 30, agents can share their favourite Canadian recipes on the page, in the comments section of the brand’s ‘Cooking with Joel’ videos for a chance to win either 100 loonies of 50 toonies.
