Club Med extends COVID-19 coverage until end of 2022

TORONTO — Club Med is extending its Emergency Medical Assistance program, including COVID-19 coverage, through Dec. 31, 2022.

Applicable for all worldwide bookings taking place through the end of 2022, this extension covers COVID-19 medical expenses for both individuals and groups, offered without any additional cost to travellers. The assistance program is underwritten through Europ Assistance and provides guests travelling before Dec. 31, 2022 with coverage for emergency medical expenses during their stay, including those related to COVID-19.

The following is included in the assistance program:

  • Medical expenses abroad (up to €75,000 including tax/person)
  • Advance on hospitalization costs incurred abroad (up to €75,000 including tax per beneficiary)
  • The cost of an extended stay at the resort, if required by local health authorities
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation following accident and/or illness

In addition, Club Med has also expanded its Flexible Cancellation Policy that allows Canadian travellers to cancel their stay up to 31 days prior to departure and get a full refund on air-inclusive packages. This applies to stays on and prior to Dec. 16, 2021.

For added reassurance, Club Med’s ‘Safe Together’ program includes a wide scope of health and hygiene protocols that include protective face coverings for staff, hand sanitizer available throughout the resort, deep cleaning and frequent sanitizing of surfaces and facilities, social distancing, capped resort capacity, temperature checks on arrival and periodically during the stay, as well as doctor or nursing staff available 24/7 at the resort.

While current border restrictions may limit travel, Club Med is enticing travellers to book a future stay now with its Exclusive Winter Pre-Sale. The sale gives Canadians early access to the best travel dates, including Christmas 2021, New Year’s Eve 2022 and Easter 2022, as well as the best available rooms. Plus, early bookers can save up to 50% off vacation packages. Bookings must be made before March 25, 2021 for trips between Nov. 6, 2021 and July 1, 2022.
