Blue Diamond temporarily closes in Mexico, Central America and Caribbean

Blue Diamond Resorts’ first Mystique Blue to open this summer

TORONTO — Blue Diamond Resorts has announced the opening of a new property on Mexico’s Isla Holbox.

The new Mystique Blue Boutique Suites, billed as a modern and elegant 38-suite beachfront resort, is set to open later this summer.

The Mystique Blue boutique resort collection is the newest addition to the company.

Dining options include fresh local ingredients at Fresco and a beach bar that offers signature drinks, including the Mystique Sangria.

Holbox is a 42-kilometre island within Yum Balam, a protected nature reserve north of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. Blue Diamond says the “striking and unique island is a hidden gem for the nature lover, who will revel in the island’s car-free roads covered in powdery white sand, sightings of exotic birds, local vegetation and fishermen walking through the village with their catch of the day.”

Mystique Blue’s 38 suites are in one main building overlooking the pristine beach. “This intimate hotel celebrates the beauty of nature with thoughtful design and indulgent features that will entice one to embrace privacy or engage in exploration,” says Blue Diamond. Guests can ride bikes into the village, go bird watching or try deep sea and fly fishing, kiteboarding, snorkeling, and kayaking through the mangrove.

Resort amenities include a spacious balcony area with suspended and cozy nest-style seats for two, 55” flat screen TVs, unlimited WiFi and custom mattresses and bedding.

From May to September whale sharks frequent the waters around the island and guests can book snorkelling trips to get closer to these massive (and harmless) creatures.
