Avalon’s booking challenge includes free cruise for four

TORONTO – The Globus family of brands has put forth a new challenge to Canadian travel agents: whoever sells the most 2019 passengers will win a cruise for four.

The challenge applies to bookings made between May 22-Aug. 31, 2018, and includes a grand prize of an Active Discovery Cruise for four on his/her choice on the Danube, Rhine or Rhone River in 2019. Avalon will be tracking all sales.

“This is a great reason to introduce your clients to our concept of Active Discovery,” said Kim Clarke, director of sales for the Globus family of brands. Clarke notes that while on these cruises, clients have the choice each day of an Active shore excursion like guided biking, a Discovery excursion like a food tour or informal painting classes, or a Classic walking tour with a historic cultural theme. Even better, clients don’t have to choose what they want to do each day until they wake up that morning.

The concept has proven so popular that Avalon has expanded Active Discovery Cruises to include the Danube, Rhine and Rhone Rivers next year, and also added an onboard Adventure Host. Plus, for the first time, the cruise line is making it easier to explore independently by including a self-guided tour app as well as the free use of more bikes (16 per ship) or Nordic poles. Even a picnic can be prepared by the ship’s culinary team, available upon request.
