Atlas Ocean Voyages celebrates double naming ceremony for two ships

CHILEAN PATAGONIA — Atlas Ocean Voyages is fresh off a double celebration, having hosted naming ceremonies for its new World Traveller and World Navigator.

The ships were named in the fjords along the Beagle Channel’s Glacier Alley, with VIP guests in attendance including travel advisors, shareholders, media and dignitaries from Argentina and Chile.

World Traveller was named Nov. 19, with a Zodiac sightseeing of Pia Glacier and a gala welcome reception and dinner following the ceremony. The naming festivities for World Navigator, which has been in service since last year but was never formally named due to COVID-19 restrictions, took place on Nov. 20, preceded by a celebratory luncheon onboard.

“Both yacht-style vessels specialize in expeditions to some of nature’s most spectacular destinations,” said James Rodriguez, Atlas’ president and CEO. “What a historic weekend for Atlas – it was inspiring to name these two spectacular ships surrounded by majestic glaciers.”

Both expedition ships are Polar Category C- and Ice Class 1B-certified and offer in-depth excursions and customized private tours. Only 100 accommodations are available onboard, plus a nearly 1:1 guest-to-staff ratio allows for personable service.
