American Queen Voyages releases 2024 season early

FORT LAUDERDALE — In its 10-year history, American Queen Voyages has never released a season this far in advance before.

But as demand for close-to-home travel experiences continues to grow, Shawn Bierdz, chief operating officer, says that the newly rebranded company is “eager to introduce a full season of itineraries under the new American Queen Voyages name.”

The 2024 season will begin with the company’s famed Lower Mississippi route between New Orleans and Memphis on the paddlewheelers the American Duchess, American Countess and the American Queen. They will also sail through America’s heartland, showcasing the Ohio and Cumberland rivers. For those seeking a deeper exploration of the Mississippi and its tributaries, the Mighty Mississippi journeys will also be returning.

Expanding upon its offerings in Lakes & Ocean cruising, American Queen Voyages will offer itineraries along the coastal waters of the U.S., Canada and the Great Lakes, beginning with voyages to Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula where guests can partake in shore excursions led by bilingual guides. New in 2024 will be an exploration between Niagara Falls and Chicago, as well as a late spring/early summer voyage between Canada and New England with stops in port cities like Martha’s Vineyard, Bar Harbor and Newport.

The 2024 season will also mark American Queen Voyages Expedition’s third season in the market, and its second season with two vessels operating in Alaska: the Ocean Victory and Ocean Discoverer. The newly built 186-passenger vessels will sail immersive journeys through the less-travelled regions of Alaska’s Inside Passage.

Earlier in September, American Queen Steamboat Company rebranded as American Queen Voyages, a new overarching brand that merges the company with sister line Victory Cruise Lines.

The release of the 2024 season follows several milestones for the company. In addition to its rebrand, in 2021 American Queen Voyages celebrated the christening and inaugural season of the American Countess, the company’s 10th anniversary, the opening of its new Fort Lauderdale office as well as multiple record-breaking booking days throughout the year.

“Following a momentous year for the company, we are eager to introduce a full season of itineraries under the new American Queen Voyages name, establishing our River, Lakes & Ocean and Expedition offerings to cruisers as they plan out their future travels,” says Bierdz.
