AmaWaterways adds a third ‘Seven River Journey’ in response to growing demand

CALABASAS — AmaWaterways is launching a third ‘Seven River Journey’ for Autumn 2023 following the hugely successful Spring and Summer Editions announced earlier this year.

The 2023 journey, departing Aug. 24 from Paris and returning Oct. 9 to Giurgiu, Romania, will visit a total of 14 countries over the span of 47 days. Cruise fares start at $37,439 per guest.

Earlier this year, AmaWaterways introduced its longest-ever river cruise itinerary, the 46-night Seven River Journey Through Europe,’ which garnered international attention from travel agents and guests. A second 45-night ‘Seven River Journey’ was announced a month later, in April, following the overwhelming response to the first.

“Our Seven River Journeys have generated such an amazing response from our guests, and we are delighted to offer yet another opportunity for travellers to immerse themselves in the beautiful regions of Europe during one of my favorite times of year, the delightful autumn season,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-founder of AmaWaterways. “From exploring fairytale castles and storybook villages enveloped in brilliant fall colors to enjoying seasonal wines and the autumn apple harvest, Seven River Journey – Autumn Edition takes place during the perfect time of year for guests to spend extended time in some of Europe’s most-sought after destinations.”

While on the ‘seven River Journey – Autumn Edition,’ guests will embark from Paris on AmaLyra to sail along the Seine, before transferring to AmaCerto in Amsterdam to sail along the Maas, Rhine, Main and Moselle rivers. Their journey will conclude with two weeks onboard AmaVerde, which will sail the full length of the Danube.

Other highlights include:

  • Days 1-6, France (AmaLyra): Guests will cruise along the Normandy countryside between Paris and Le Havre, and enjoy a full-day excursion to the Pays d’Auge region of Normandy as well as a biking tour through the town of Les Andelys.
  • Days 6-32, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, France & Switzerland (AmaCerto): In the Netherlands, guests will stroll past traditional canals and charming house boats while tasting Dutch specialities. They’ll also visit the medieval town of Bruges, plus enjoy the opportunity to hike or bike through vineyards. Exclusive to this journey, guests will be treated to a crémant-tasting in the French Village of Obernai.
  • Days 33-47, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria & Romania (AmaVerde): During the final leg of the journey, guests will be treated to exclusive experiences, including an Oktoberfest celebration with music and beer, a walking tour in Dürnstein and a visit to the Szekszárd wine region, one of the oldest red-wine-growing areas in Hungary.
