CALEDON, ON — Turkish Airlines continues to make significant investments on the ground and in the air.
The airline has announced expanded service from Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal while strengthening its partnership with the RBC Canadian Open — a move that illustrates a growing confidence in the Canadian market, and creates new opportunities for travel advisors selling international travel.
First announced in May, with more details earlier this month, beginning in July 2026, Turkish Airlines will offer seven weekly flights between Toronto Pearson and Istanbul, while both Vancouver and Montreal (YUL) will see service increase to four weekly flights. This gives Canadian travellers greater access to one of the world’s most connected hubs, and hundreds of onward international destinations.
For travel advisors, the increased frequencies mean more flexibility and improved itinerary options. Daily service from Toronto in particular strengthens Turkish Airlines’ position as an attractive option for Canadians seeking one-stop connections beyond Europe, to dozens of other markets throughout the airline’s extensive network.
The expansion follows the addition of a new Saturday departure from Istanbul and return flight from Toronto beginning July 4-5. Vancouver gains an additional Sunday flight starting July 5, while Montreal receives a new Tuesday service beginning July 7.
While demand is driven by leisure travel, the airline’s Canadian routes also appeal to business travellers and those visiting friends and family. Canada’s multicultural population, combined with increased interest in international travel experiences, has helped streamline the airlines’ strong and seamless access to and through Istanbul, one of the world’s strategically located hubs.

Turkish Airlines has also increased its visibility in Canada, returning as an official airline sponsor of the 2026 RBC Canadian Open (June 10-14) at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley.
By aligning with Golf Canada and the PGA Tour, the airline broadens its global exposure while reinforcing its position as a top-tier global connecting people with destinations and shared experiences.
“Our return to the RBC Canadian Open is a reflection of our long-term commitment to Canada and to the sports communities that unite people across borders,” says Turkish Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Harun Baştürk. “Turkish Airlines connects over 130 countries, and we bring that same global spirit to every partnership we enter.”
For advisors, the sponsorship is another sign that the airline is serious about the Canadian market. Beyond adding flights, it’s investing in prolific partnerships that aim to raise broader visibility among affluent travellers, business professionals, and Canadians passionate about international travel – many of whom collaborate with travel advisors when trip planning.
UNOBSTRUCTED VIEWS OF THE 18TH GREEN
The airline’s enhanced presence at this year’s tournament – as Travelweek had a chance to experience yesterday – included an expanded Turkish Airlines Lounge featuring a 2,000 square foot climate-controlled hospitality space designed for a premium guest experience. Guests enjoyed curated Turkish-inspired meals, snacks and desserts alongside unobstructed views of the 18th green.
A nod to the airline’s Business Class lounge in Istanbul airport, on-site shoulder massages were also offered for attendees. Beyond the Lounge, Turkish Airlines served traditional Turkish coffee to players on the driving range and welcomed fans along The Fare Way with refreshments and contesting opportunities, further boosting brand engagement.

With more flights and increased visibility through partnerships like the RBC Canadian Open, Turkish Airlines is doubling down on Canada, and offering travellers broader access and more hassle-free connectivity to international hotspots through Istanbul.
For advisors specializing in luxury, golf and experiential travel, the partnership checks all the right boxes. Golf travellers tend to be high-spending clients who customize trips around the sport, often pairing extended getaways with upscale hotels, and elevated dining.
