Air Transat adds five nonstop Europe routes for summer 2027

MONTREAL — Air Transat is expanding its European network for summer 2027 with five new non-stop routes from Canada, including two new destinations from Québec City and year-round service on select sun routes.

The airline’s summer program includes new flights from Montréal to Geneva, Switzerland, and Faro, Portugal, as well as from Toronto to Birmingham, England. From Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), Air Transat will introduce weekly seasonal service to Lyon and Barcelona, with Barcelona becoming the first Spanish destination served by a non-stop flight from Québec City.

The new Québec City–Lyon route will operate Tuesdays from June 8 to Oct. 26, 2027, while flights to Barcelona will operate Mondays from June 14 to Oct. 25.

“We want to develop a range of destinations that complement one another and offer travellers a variety of experiences,” said Ponce. “Our summer 2027 program combines opportunities to discover new regions of Europe with an expanded presence in markets we already serve. By extending select sun routes through the summer, we are also giving travellers more flexibility to choose when to take their holidays.”

TWO NEW DESTINATIONS

From Montréal, Air Transat will launch twice-weekly service to Geneva from June 19 to Oct. 23, operating Tuesdays and Saturdays. The French-speaking Swiss city offers access to Lake Geneva and the Alps, including Chamonix at the foot of Mont Blanc.

From Toronto, the airline will add twice-weekly flights to Birmingham from June 22 to Oct. 22, operating Tuesdays and Fridays. The route will complement Air Transat’s existing service to London and Manchester, while providing access to attractions including Stratford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds.

MORE OPTIONS FROM MONTREAL

Air Transat will also introduce weekly non-stop service between Montréal and Faro in Portugal’s Algarve region, operating Mondays from June 14 to Oct. 25. Faro will become the third Portuguese airport served by Air Transat from Montréal, alongside Lisbon and Porto. The airline already serves Faro from Toronto.

SUN ROUTES EXTENDED TO YEAR-ROUND

Beyond Europe, Air Transat will extend its Québec City–Puerto Plata service in the Dominican Republic and Montréal–St. Maarten service to year-round operations, giving travellers more flexibility to plan Caribbean getaways outside the winter season.

The Québec City–Puerto Plata route will operate once weekly on Mondays in summer, while Montréal–St. Maarten service will operate on Saturdays.

The new routes form part of Air Transat’s broader summer 2027 network. Through its partnership with Porter Airlines, the carrier also offers travellers across Canada connections to its international network.
