Air Transat increases frequency to Europe as part of 2017 transatlantic program

MONTREAL – Air Transat has unveiled its 2017 transatlantic flight program featuring 27 European destinations and new connecting flights.

Air Transat strengthens its flight program to France and the UK, where it has been present for nearly 30 years, offering direct flights several times a week to a wide variety of cities. Flights to Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, Nice, Nantes, London, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham will be mainly operated by Airbus A330s as of next spring. The airline also offers a multi-destination flight option, making it possible to land in one European city and return from another, at no extra cost.

The enriched program to France also includes an increase in flight frequency on the popular Montreal-Paris route (one additional flight, for a total of 14 direct flights a week) as well as on the Montreal-Marseille route (one additional flight, for a total of five direct flights a week), which is the ideal gateway to a holiday in Provence.

There will also be an increase in frequency in some of its flights to its Mediterranean destinations, such as Italy, Greece, Spain and Portugal, popular for short and long holidays, as well as for cruises. Flights will be added to these routes: Montreal-Athens (three direct flights a week); Montreal-Venice (three/week); Montreal-Barcelona (five/week); Montreal-Madrid (two/week); Montreal-Malaga 9two/week); Montreal-Porto (two/week); Montreal-Lisbon (four/week); and Toronto-Athens (three/week).

For those who wish to discover Central Europe, flight frequency on the Toronto-Zagreb and Montreal-Prague routes, two new additions to the transatlantic program, will increase to twice a week.

And finally, Air Transat will offer an additional flight between Toronto and Dublin, for a total of three flights a week and maintain one flight a week from Montreal.

Building on the success of its connecting flights, which it has been operating for three years now, Air Transat strengthens its program by inaugurating two new routes: Vancouver-Montreal, and Ottawa-Montreal.

During peak season, Air Transat will offer: Montreal-Toronto (daily flights); Vancouver-Toronto (daily); Calgary-Toronto (four flights/week); Quebec City-Montreal (five/week); Vancouver-Montreal (two/week); and Ottawa-Montreal (three/week).
